EYELASH PATTERN

Multiple of 8 + 4.

Base row: 1 dc in 2. ch from hook, and in each subsequent ch. Turn with 1 ch.

1. - 5. row: 1 dc in each st. Change to new colour. Turn with 1 ch.

6. row: 1 dc in 1. st, Work "lashes" (= 1 dc in next st, 1dc worked by inserting hook in next st on 5. row from bottom, 1 dc in next st in 4. row from, bottom, 1 dc in next stitch in 3. row from bottom, 1 dc in next st in 2. row from bottom, 1 dc in next st in 3. row from bottom, 1 dc in next st in 4. row from bottom, 1 dc in next st in 5. row from bottom) to end of row, ending with 1 dc in each of last 2 sts. Turn with 1 ch.

7. - 11. row: As 1. - 5. row.

12. row: 1 dc in 1. st, 1 dc worked by inserting hook in next st in 2. row of prev colour, 1 dc in next st in 3. row, 1 dc in ext st in 4. row, 1 dc in next st in 5. row. Continue working 'lashes', but end with only 1 dc. Turn with 1 dc.

Repeat rows 1 - 12.

SHARPENING STONE PATTERN

Multiple of 10.

Base row: (A) 1 dc in 2. ch from hook, and in each subsequent ch. Turn with 1 ch.

1. row: (B) 1 group (= 9 sts are worked thus: 1 dc, 1 htr, 5 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc), 1 ch, miss 1 st. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 group. Turn with 1 ch.

2. row : (B) As 1. row. Change to colour A before turning.

3. row: (A) * 1 dc in each st in group, 1 tr worked by inserting hook in the dc under the ch of the 2 prev rows. repeat from * to end of row. Turn with 1 ch.

4. row: (A) 1 dc in each st to end of row. Change to colour B before turning with 2 ch.

5. (B) Miss 1. st, 1 tr in 2. st, 1 htr in 3. st, 1 dc in 4. st, * 1 ch, miss 1 st, 1 group. repeat from * to end of row, ending with the first 2 st of a group. turn with 2 ch.

6. row: (B) As 5. row, ending by working last st in top ch. Change to colour A before turning with 1 ch.

7. row : (A) As 3. row, but start and finish with 4 dc.

8. row : (A) As 4. row, but turn with 1 ch.

Repeat rows 1 - 8.

CANVAS PATTERN

This pattern is completely reversible.

Important! For this pattern the work is only to be turned when so indicated.

Multiple of 2 + 1.

1. row: (A) 1 tr in 3. st from hook, * miss 1 st, 2 tr in next st. Repeat from * to end of row. After the last st, draw the thread to a long loop about 2 inches long. Leave A thread. Turn.

2. row: (B) 1 ch, secure thread with 1 dc in the middle of the first 2 tr, * 1 ch, 1 dc between the next 2 tr. Repeat from * to end of row, end after last ch with a dc between the last tr and the ch. Leave B thread.

3. row: (A) Start on opposite side by tightening A thread to a normal firm loop, 3 ch and 1 tr around the top B edge st. * Miss the dc, 2 tr in the next ch. Repeat from * to end of row. Finish by drawing out the thread to a long loop. Leave thread.

4. row: (B) Tighten B thread to a normal tight loop, 3 ch, turn, placing A loop at the back ofwork. * 1 dc between in middle of 2 tr, 1 ch. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 dc in the top edge ch. draw out thread to a long loop and leave.

5. row: (A) Starting on opposite side by tightening A thread to a normal firm loop, 3 ch, 1 tr in the top B edge st. * Miss the dc, 2 tr in next ch. Repeat from * to end of row and draw out thread to a long loop.

6. row: (B) Pull B thread to normal size, 3 ch, turn, placing A loop at the back ofwork. * 1 dc in the middle of the 2 tr, 1 ch. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 dc in the top edge ch. Draw out thread to a long loop and turn.

Repeat from row 3.

6. row : (B) 1 dc in first 2 sts, * 1 rtr in next st of3. row, 1 tr ineach of next 3 sts. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 dc in last st. Turn with 1 ch.

7. row : (B) 1 dc in each st.

8. row : (A) 1 dc in first 3 sts, * 1 rtr in next st, 1 tr in each of next 3 sts. repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 dc in last st. Turn with 1 ch.

9. row: (A) 1 dc in each st.

WAVE PATTERN

This pattern can be done either mono- or multi colour, but is most effective when worked in more than 1 colour.

Multiple of 12.

Base row: 2 tr in 4. ch from hook, 1 tr in each of the following 2 ch. * 3 tr tog, 1 tr in each of the next 4 ch, 3 tr in next ch, 1 tr in each of next 4 ch. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 1 tr in each of the next 2 ch, 2 tr in last ch. turn with 3 ch.

1. row: 2 tr in first st, 1 tr in each of the next 2 sts (inserting hook in front loop only), 3 tr tog, 1 tr in each of the next 4 sts, 3 tr in next st. Repeat from * to end of roe, ending with 1 tr in each of 2 sts, 2 tr in last st. Turn with 3 ch.

2. row: as 1. row, but insert hook through both loops.

Repeat rows 1 - 2.
